guest speaker: Phil Ransom
Writer and Communicator, Phil Ransom’s history with Camp Rock is long and varied:
· In the 1950s, he was the newborn baby and then inquisitive son of Camp Rock directors Dick and Shirley Ransom.
· In the 1980s he was an avid supporter of Camp’s ministry as Calvary Memorial Church’s creative & energetic youth & music pastor, bringing campers, and personally serving each summer as counselor or camp speaker.
· As Camp Board member and then President (2012 – 2014), God used Phil’s visionary and non-profit management skills to open the window to what Camp Rock is and does today.
· While a move to Wisconsin early in 2014 necessitated his leaving the board, he frequently writes and edits Camp projects you see in print and online.
You’ll enjoy his passionate yet lighthearted approach to life and ministry at this year’s fund raising banquet. We’ve invited him to re-enforce the value of Christian camping and call us to action for 2017. We think it only fair to warn you: Phil’s desire to reach, encourage and disciple is insatiable – and highly contagious!
